God Help You If I Find Pickles!

At last week’s Comic-Con, Seth MacFarlane announced that there is an episode of Family Guy that Fox will most likely deem too racy to run in the upcoming season. The topic of the episode? Abortion. MacFarlane went on to say that the only way fans will get to see the episode is on the season DVD set, which is exactly what happened to the “When You Wish Upon a Weinstein” episode, which the network also shied away from airing.

Also of note, MacFarlane recently sealed an incredible $100 million contract with Fox that takes Family Guy into 2012. Interestingly, and remarkably, this deal willmake him the highest-paid writer-producer in television history. Giggity!

While reading up on this so-called abortion episode, I came across a lot of criticism leveled at the show and its themes, most notably its anti-feminist or female-bashing themes. And while I’m a steadfast and vocal supporter for equality of the sexes, I find Family Guy’s humor to be More

I think this book looks pretty great. I love stand-up comedy, animated comedies (you heard me right) and humor in general, but it’s something that I never really think to read about in depth. Among others, David Sedaris is interviewed. You can read the text here.
